*The June monthly meeting was held at Shine's in Rutledge with 16 members and one guest present. We would like to extend a welcome to new members, Billy Joe & Beverly Morgan, and Earl & Josephine Oliver.

*Treasury reports a balance of $5048.09 to current date.

*It was decided that the club would hold a fish fry/meeting on July 12 at May Springs. We will meet at 5:00 pm. Members are asked to bring a side dish and fish will be provided by the club.

*Thank you to Orville and Pat Byrd for their hard work in setting up and running the recent Poker Run. It was a fun day for all!

*In old business: John Poskas has purchased the propane for the Grainger County Tomato Festival and club fish fry. It was purchased through the church for a better rate and was picked up June 13.

*Federated Automotive has donations for Friday night cruise-ins. Several members suggested using these items for the Tomato Festival car show.

Upcoming Events:

7/26-27  Grainger County Tomato Festival - All set up needs to be done on Friday morning, tables, tents, etc...Nancy Poskas has a detail sheet with assigned jobs including cooks, cashier, slicers, etc...if you want to be included, please contact Nancy. We always need additional help and it is much appreciated! Orville Byrd stated that he would like to sell 50/50 tickets this year at the festival's car show.

Remember that we meet at Hardee's in Dandridge on Saturday evenings, rain or shine.

*It was decided that the club would hold a fish fry/meeting on July 5, at the Grainger County Park. We will meet at 5:00 pm. Please bring a side dish.

*Upcoming Events:

    5-31    Grainger County Ridgerunners 1st Annual Poker Run to meet at Big Lots to register at 12-12:45 pm. Various stops will be made including   a visit to Don Bunches and Sagebrush. The trip will end at the Morristown cruise in at 7:00 pm. There will be restroom facilities, good parking and no interstate traveling. At every stop, a card will be issued, 7 in all. Thank you to Orville Byrd for orchestrating this trip!

    6-7    Morristown Lion-O-Rama car Show, held at Fred Miller Park, Morristown, from 8-4:30 pm. Grab bags for the first 100 registrants, auctions and door prizes. There will be a parade following the car show, which leads to the Hamblen County car Club Cruise-In.

    6-14    June Jubilee in Dandridge. We will be meeting at 8:30 am at the new Tractor Supply in Jefferson City. More information is available at www.june-jubilee.com

*Insurance prices were discussed for upcoming events. It was decided that John Poskas would acquire the policy for the next annual year. John also provided the members with prices for filling the propane tanks for the tomato festival.

* It was decided that members would pay a $10 registration fee for the club's car show at Big Lots, to be held April 26. Those who register, although not eligible for prizes will receive a goody bag and dash plaque.

    4/26    Grainger County Ridgerunners Car Club Show

                 held at Big Lots in Jefferson City from 10-4.

    5/10    Greene County Benefit Car Show, held at Baileyton Elementary School. This show is being held to help rebuild the church after it                  was destroyed by a fire in November 2007.

    5/31    2nd Annual Open Car/Truck Show, sponsored by the Ladies of Blount County Shrine Club. It will be held at the Parkway Drive-In Theater, Maryville, from 9-3 pm.

    6/7    Dandridge June Jubilee Car Show - more information will be available soon.

*The March monthly meeting was held at Shine's in Rutledge with 19 members present. Three new members joined and 2 past members rejoined. We would like to extend a welcome to Mike & Kathy Reading, Dorothy Srock, and Robert & Dorothy Reagan.

*Treasury reports a balance of $4673.08 to current date.

*Club dues are being collected until March 31st for the 2008 membership year.

*It was decided the club hosted car show will be held on April 26 at Big Lots, Jefferson City, from 10-4 pm. Gary Hurst has secured estimates for trophies and dash plaques. Donations of items will be solicited from local businesses for hand-out bags for the shows participants.

*Members were encouraged to attend a meeting on March 18 at the Justice Center in Rutledge, concerning the details for the Tomato Festival Car Show location. It is being held at 7 pm. There were 6 members who volunteered to attend.

*It was decided that the club will only sell fried tomatoes and drinks this year at the Festival. The price increase was also motioned. Orville Byrd has volunteered to head the car show this year.

*The 2008 Board of Directors were assigned: Orville Byrd, John Poskas, Mike Rhea, Dave Munsey, Kevin Kidwell, Harold Tisdale, Gene Honeycutt and Gary Hurst.

*Gene Honeycutt invited the club to attend the Morristown Lion-o-Rama car show on June 7th at Fred Miller Park in downtown Morristown, 8 am - 4:30 pm. Registration applications were handed out.

*A special thanks to Pat Dukes and daughter, Leslie Brock for the club's website updates. It looks great and we appreciate your time to do this.
