At the June meeting we had a guest, Don Johnson. His grandson had a heart attack and he came to invite everyone to come to a benefit that he was giving for him on June 25th. He asked me to tell everyone that the  benefit went really well and he had over 100 classic cars attend to thank the members that attended.

Rocky brought the stickers for the members of GCRR, one an adhesive sticker and the other a window clinger. They have Kermit's car printed on them and look very nice.

Everything is almost ready for the Tomato Festival. The gas bottles are filled and the cookers are cleaned. Cecil had 350 bottles of water donated to us by Leeper's Hardware in Jefferson City. The flyers are done and the People's Choice award sheets are done. Orville has them both. The t-shirts and the trophies have been ordered. The gift bags for the cars were stuffed by members after the July meeting.

We still need an alternator to run the microphones and the fans at the car registration booth and table cloths to go underneath the paper on the tables in the tomato booth.

Volunteers are still needed, so if you can spend a few hours, please let Nancy know.

We need a member of John Thompson's family to come and select their favorite car for the John Thompson Memorial award at the car show.

On the membership list, someone suggested that we put the types of cars that the members own, along with their names. I knew a few of them, but if you could let Pat know, at the next meeting, or call her at 865-363-5891. I will add it to the list and send the list out again next month.

Old Time Saturday has asked if we will attend their show with the fried green tomatoes and also the car show. It is October 2nd. Pat reserved the space, but we will decide at the next meeting whether we will attend or not. They will hold our space until we decide.

Cecil said the nursing home in Jefferson City has invited the club to come down there again. They enjoyed us so much last year. It was suggested that we meet at Big Lots and travel around a few miles and end up at the nursing home. This will probably be in September or October on a Saturday. We could also invite non-members to go along with us.

Also, Frank Solomon invited us to come down to the New Market Park for a cruise-in on a Friday night. He will let us know when.

The next meeting will be held at the Down Home Restaurant in Rutledge on August 12th at 7:00 pm.
